Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update:
Harm Reduction Center Family & Friends,
Firstly, Harm Reduction Center wishes everyone the best in health and safety as this continues. This notice is to take a moment to share an update on what we are doing here at Harm Reduction Center to keep our entire community protected. Our primary concern is keeping our patients and staff safe from the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). To mitigate this risk and ensure the health and wellness of everyone here at Harm Reduction Center, we are taking every precaution necessary. Our staff and center already take great precautions for the health and safety of our clients. That foundation of health and safety is a priority that is granted great acknowledgment in the face of this global challenge that faces our nation. That said, our medical team and all other HARC staff are following every guideline set forth by the CDC and the Department of Health.
At this time, Harm Reduction Center is still accepting patients to all programs–with increased safety precautions. The HARC team has created and implemented a comprehensive COVID-19 control and prevention plan. This includes extensive screening as to who is allowed into our facilities. HARC staff have been educated about how to monitor signs and symptoms and have been ordered to report them to our medical team immediately. Upon admission to all levels of care at HARC, all patients undergo an evaluation which includes: Checking for high body temperature, observation of any coughing, sneezing, or respiratory issues, etc. (blood work is also performed on a case by case basis).
Regarding our facilities, we have doubled our housekeeping procedures with specific attention to infection control. We have also increased our sanitary supplies (including disinfectant sprays, antimicrobial wipes, antibacterial soaps, bleach, and other chemicals known to kill viruses, germs, and bacteria). All offices, facility rooms, and housing units are disinfectanted at least twice per day. Our facilities staff are taking every single measure to safeguard not only our patients and staff but our community.
Patients are also being educated on infection control procedures such as proper hand-washing, covering coughs & sneezes, avoiding touching of the face, and social distancing techniques.
These are just a few of the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our entire HARC family and we hope this eases some valid concern over this pandemic. We know these precautions work to help combat spread and will keep doing everything necessary to protect our family.
We will keep posting updates to this page as soon as they become available.
Again, we wish health and safety to everyone at this difficult time. We also thank those who have loved ones with us and your continued trust through this challenge. Harm Reduction Center is dedicated to our patients and will always do what is necessary to ensure the wellness of each person in our care.
The HARC Family
